Qualitative context

Written Analysis

The company's most significant completed water-management actions — achievements, not intentions.

The Written Analysis provides the qualitative context behind each company's water performance.

Each assessment begins with a concise explanation of the company's main business activities and why water is relevant to its operations. H2Oversight then evaluates the most significant completed water-related actions disclosed by the company, including initiatives such as water-reuse systems, wastewater-treatment improvements, cooling-system upgrades, digital monitoring, leak detection, produced-water management, alternative water sourcing, and watershed restoration.

The analysis focuses on demonstrated achievements rather than intentions. Future targets, announced projects, facilities still under construction, and projected savings are not presented as completed accomplishments. When a company reports many similar initiatives, H2Oversight selects representative or particularly significant examples rather than listing every project.

The Written Analysis is also designed to avoid unnecessary repetition. Quantitative figures appear in the narrative only when they are necessary to explain the significance of a specific project. Otherwise, they are reserved for the Key Metrics or Supplemental Metrics fields.

Where necessary, H2Oversight identifies material limitations, inconsistencies, or adverse trends that affect interpretation of the company's water performance. The purpose is not to criticize companies for every missing datapoint, but to distinguish demonstrable performance from claims that cannot be evaluated with the information provided.
