Raytheon Technologies

Water dependencyLow

Raytheon Technologies is an aerospace and defense company based in the U.S., whose products include aircraft engines, avionics, missile systems, sensors, and other technologies. Water use occurs at its manufacturing and testing sites for a variety of purposes, including production, building cooling, sanitation, and operations. Site-level management of critical water risks is therefore relevant to the company's overall environmental impact.

Its most significant water achievement was the complete rollout of nine water best management practices at qualifying high-use sites in 2025, having been applied to 93% of such sites in 2024. These were implemented at sites that consumed over five million gallons of potable water in a year and focused on the largest water users in the company.

These were enabled by a range of site projects, including Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, which started to collect and reuse water from weekly fire-pump testing and HVAC condensate; Tanauan City, Philippines, which upgraded its cooling towers, managed leaks, and raised employee awareness; and McLeod Ganj, India, and other sites, which installed low-flow landscape irrigation. A cool-air-cleaning process that used less water and generated less waste was applied at Wolverhampton, U.K., and a green landscaping project was installed at both the California and Massachusetts sites in the U.S.

Water use decreased by around 104.4 million gallons (6.2%) in 2025, while water intensity increased by 14.9%, and consumption in 2025 was 14% lower than in 2019. No data is provided on water-stressed areas, captured water, or savings achieved for each project, so it is unclear where the reductions were achieved or which interventions contributed the most.
